Paris Saint-Germain say Neymar has not suffered a fracture to his ankle, however, it is not clear if he play in Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
The Brazilian superstar had scored for PSG against Lille in their Ligue 1 clash, and assisted Kylian Mbappe’s opener in their 4-3 win.
The French champions were looking in good form after three defeats on the bounce, with Neymar orchestrating a first-half lead.
But disaster struck when Lille’s Benjamin Andre got in an unfortunate tangle with the 31-year-old, seeing his ankle turn gruesomely in the wrong direction.
Neymar’s right foot buckled over as it hit the ground, seeing him writing on the floor in pain as teammates gathered around.
After help from medics, Neymar gingerly returned to his feet and was held up by Mbappe, but quickly succumbed to the pain.
Dropping down to the stretcher, Neymar got in it and punched the support in anger at his latest injury, looking almost in tears as he took out his frustration.
PSG said hours after the match that the forward had undergone an MRI scan that revealed that there was no fracture to the ankle but further tests will be carried out.

Neymar was spotted at a casino after a Champions League defeat to Bayern, with Mbappe making comments about conditioning to the press.
Clarifying his comments after the win over Lille, Mbappe said: “I was never attacking or pointing the finger at Neymar when I mentioned we need to eat and sleep well.
“I hope Neymar’s injury is not serious, I hope he returns soon — we need him with us”.
The timing of the injury couldn’t be any worse, with PSG entering a very crucial stage in their season.
Three consecutive losses have seen PSG knocked out of the Coupe de France by Marseille, beaten heavily in Ligue 1 by Monaco, and gone 1-0 down in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie with Bayern Munich.
Neymar now looks set to be a doubt for the second leg against Bayern in Munich, while rumblings continue over a summer departure from Paris.
