Ex-UFC heavyweight contender Brendan Schaub has gone viral for a video of him talking about football.

‘Big Brown’, who has enjoyed successful careers in American football, MMA, and stand-up comedy, clearly knows nothing about real football but that didn’t stop him from offering up facts about the sport on his podcast, the video of which subsequently went viral.

Brendan Schaub and his podcast co-host, Bryan Callen, are clearly not big football fans

Bryan Callen, who co-hosts The Fighter and The Kid, got the excruciatingly cringeworthy segment started by bringing up France forward ‘Mgappe’ who usually goes by the name Kylian Mbappe.

At this point, Schaub interjects with the right pronunciation and informs his long-time pal that Mbappe actually won the Golden Boot at the World Cup by scoring five goals in Qatar.

The former UFC star really should’ve quit while he was ahead, but he tried to educate Callen on Mbappe by revealing who his teammates are and where they play club football.

Schaub said: “You know, Messi, Mbappe, and ‘Needermeyer’ are all teammates in the Premier League.”

Football fans needn’t worry, ‘Needermeyer’ is not some Dutch prospect you have never heard of, it’s just Schaub getting Neymar’s name horribly wrong before claiming he plays in England’s top flight.

Of course, Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar play in France’s Ligue 1 for Paris Saint-Germain who will next be in action against Strasbourg on Wednesday.

Although, Messi is unlikely to make an appearance as he’ll probably still be celebrating winning the World Cup with Argentina who beat Mbappe’s France on penalties following an epic final.

As for Schaub, he’ll continue with podcasting like nothing happened because videos of him butchering names and talking nonsense about things he knows nothing about often circulate on social media.

However, he went viral for all the right reasons last year when he rescued three children from a car wreck after their father allegedly drove into an 18-wheeler.

Schaub was hailed a hero as all of the children, whose ages ranged from 18 months to 9 years old, made a full recovery after being treated at UCLA’s Ronald Reagan Hospital.
