Neymar could miss Paris Saint-Germain’s crucial Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, the forward sharing the protective boot he’s wearing after picking up an injury.
The Brazilian star sustained the knock to his ankle after a rough collision with Lille’s Benjamin Andre. Neymar was subsequently stretchered off the pitch.
It is set to keep him out of action for three to four weeks, according to reports from Le Parisien.
This means he would miss matches against Marseille in Ligue 1 and the crucial second leg of the Champions League last-16 against Bayern Munich, in which PSG have to overturn a 1-0 lead.
Soon after, Neymar expressed his sadness as he shared a picture of his protective boot on his Instagram story with the caption ‘again and again’ along with a tear-face emoji.
This isn’t the first time he has had a problem with that ankle this season, having injured it in the World Cup group stages, which forced him to miss two matches.
Neymar has also had ankle problems in 2018, 2019 and 2021, forcing him to miss Champions League games against Real Madrid and Manchester United.
There have been a flurry of rough challenges on Neymar since he moved to Ligue 1 and it has taken its toll on the player, as he often asked for protection from referees.

Speaking after the match, his manager Christophe Galtier said: “This is not bad luck. There are always reasons for injuries – the schedule, the sequence of games. It is never random. He is being examined to know the severity of his sprain.
“Of course, it complicates things and that’s the way it is. We have to keep our heads down. We’re going to do it again, but with a victory. That is more pleasant.”
