Jude Bellingham has been named in the FIFAPRO shortlist alongside some of the biggest names in the sport.
The Borussia Dortmund star had a fantastic 2022 for club and country and has been earmarked as one of the best young players in the world.
And there is a chance that the 19-year-old could get selected in the FIFPRO Men’s World XI – the only global award voted on by exclusively by the players.
Footballers from around the globe will pick their preferred player for each position in a team that will feature one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.
The remaining position will be given to the player who has the next highest votes.
And Bellingham could be one of the XI picked after being named on the shortlist alongside Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe.
There were several Premier League entries as well such as Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Thiago Silva.
Bellingham has been a stalwart in the Dortmund team, missing just one Bundesliga match this season through suspension and even captaining the side on occasions.

The teenager, who has formed a solid relationship with Declan Rice in midfield for the Three Lions, is mentioned alongside Barcelona duo Gavi and Pedri – regarded as two of the best youngsters in the world.
There has been intense speculation over the ex-Birmingham star’s future with Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all interested.
Messi’s inclusion will come as no surprise having led Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar.
However, eyebrows have been raised over Ronaldo’s inclusion, who hardly set the world alight last year by his lofty standards.
After Erik ten Hag arrived at Manchester United, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was relegated to a bit-part role before his contract was ripped up before the World Cup.
Ronaldo has since signed for Saudi side Al-Nassr, where he recently scored four in one match.
Thibaut Courtois and Emi Martinez join Alisson in the goalkeeper’s department while Joao Cancelo, Alphonso Davies, Josko Gvardiol, Achraf Hakimi, Theo Hernandez and Antonio Rudiger make up the defenders.
In midfield, Casemiro, Enzo Fernandez, Luka Modric and Federico Valverde are all in the running with Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski and Neymar completing the choices up front.
